IATF16949 Presswork Manufacture HT Brigham & Co, have achieved important re-certification. In January Brigham hosted an auditor from BSI to carry out our annual IATF 16949 / ISO 9001 Quality Audit. Certification to these standards is a requirement within the automotive industry and enables us to continuing working with our customers from this sector. Meeting the requirements of these standards not only assists Brigham in meeting customer needs, but it also helps them standardise. Moreover, it helps us to improve our presswork and business processes.
The BSI auditor was on site for three days and was impressed by the commitment to ongoing quality management and also the drive for continuous improvement. The audit concluded with a small number of minor non-conformances. A great result which demonstrated an improvement from previous visits.
Anna Lavender-Moore, Compliance Director said, “At Brigham we see findings as opportunities for improvement. We certainly don’t see them as negatives. Moreover, we will use this valuable feedback to move the business forward.
“Over the coming months we are planning to implement further improvements in process control. Including the introduction of new ERP and also finance management systems. These changes will benefit Brigham customers by streamlining operations and allowing us to better meet our customers’ needs.
Allan Murray, Managing Director said, “Anyone who has been through a third-party audit understands they can be a source of anxiety. Especially for those involved in preparation or being questioned by the auditor. Therefore, we would like to thank all our employees for their hard work. Without them, we could not have achieved this great result.
“Also, spurred on by this success we have now decided to move forward with our plans to achieve certification to the aerospace quality standard (BS EN 9100:2018/ AS9100 Rev. D) in the first half of 2023. This will allow us to produce parts for a wide range of customers based within the aerospace, space, and also defence industries.
