Our Values

Defining our behaviours...

Over the last 75 years, the thing that has made us different to others in our marketplace is our ability to understand, and quickly meet the expectation of our customers. This has allowed us to grow into who we are — a company with a great reputation. Our growth from Hugh & Margaret’s garage, to the size we are today, is no accident. It has been achieved through the sustained hard work of teams of people, not just individuals or managers.

Over time, our colleagues have battled to overcome our unique set of challenges, and a way of working has arisen in our organisation. A set of values has emerged, that help us all to understand what is acceptable and unacceptable in our mission of providing our customers with the right product, at the right quality, in the right place, and at the right time — every time.

Our values define who we are and what we do, forming the basis of our interactions with one another, our stakeholders, and our customers. They also play a big part in allowing us to be accessible to our customers, understanding their requirements, creating value for them, and delivering what they need. Perhaps most importantly,  they help us to be approachable, humble, and easy to work with. They are what drive our success, a success shared by everyone involved in producing the value that our customers enjoy. In a world that demands agility, and consistency we must trust our values to help us overcome new challenges. We need to understand that our behaviours are the output of our cuture and value system, and we all agree that having a great working environment is really important to us.

With that in mind, we should note that the way we behave makes or breaks our working environment. Of course, leadership behaviour has the most effect, but we should not underestimate the effect every member of our team can have in making Brigham a great place to work.

Our Purpose

Create security for all our people, by solving our customers' problems, and playing a vital part in the supply chain of the future

When Hugh & Margaret moved our company to Station Road, more than sixty years ago, they understood that their new employees were integral to their success.

After Margaret’s death, our company operated as a Trust, until it returned to private ownership earlier this year. In this new era, the people who work with us, are just as important as they ever were, and we believe our organisational purpose, is to provide us all with a secure future at the heart of the supply chain of the future, and we can only achieve this by executing our mission, of providing our customers with the right product, at the right quality, in the right place, and at the right time — every time. Furthermore, we will only do this by focusing on our vision, of improving faster.

Our Vision

Improving Faster

When problems arise in a fast-paced, interdependent supply chain, they have far-reaching consequences, and they need to be solved faster than ever before. At Brigham our vision of improving faster is focused on preparing us to solve problems in real-time.

Improving faster is a baton of trust passed from our leaders to our teams, empowering, engaging, and granting permission for them to drive forward our mission and our objectives.

We are committed to being the best employer, the best supplier, and the best competitor, and only by improving faster can we get there.

Our Mission

Provide our customers with the right product, at the right quality, in the right place, and at the right time — every time

Nothing gives us more satisfaction than a repeat order and a returning customer. Some of our customer relationships span decades, and that is why we have put our customers at the heart of our mission. Our vision of Improving faster gives us the best possible chance of providing our customers with the right product, at the right quality, in the right place, and at the right time — every time, and every one of us at Brigham are committed to executing on this mission.
